Orca Scuba was shortlisted by the Singapore International Chamber of Commerce for its “Best Green Collaboration Award 2018”, in its partnership with Singapore international school, St Joseph’s Institute International. The problem Orca and SJII were solving was how to educate young people about the problems facing the world’s oceans, in a way that discourages despondency, ignites passion and enthusiasm, and provides the structure young people need to contribute towards the solution. Orca was the only SME nominated, and the Orca/SJII partnership only narrowly missed out on the award, which was won by two giants: Schneider Electric South East Asia (HQ) Pte Ltd & Sun Electric Pte Ltd.
